Description

The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock plans to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the ice rink at Schillingallee 51 in Rostock, as well as the creation of an interim solution to bridge the closure period during the renovation of the ice rink. The ice rink was built in the years 1970/1971 and opened in September 1971. The static structure of the building consists of an external steel frame with a suspended ceiling structure and separately founded outer walls. It is licensed for 1,500 spectators and is subject to the Assembly Places Ordinance of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This means that particularly strict regulations apply, especially with regard to fire protection and the evacuation possibilities for visitors. The ice rink is supplemented by an economic and functional building, which, in addition to changing rooms and social rooms, rooms for staff and association offices, houses the central building technology. Both building sections are accessible via a connecting tract. The buildings are in different states of preservation.
