Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Ausschreibung von Generalplanungsleistungen zur Errichtung eines Klärschlammbehandlungszentrums in Flonheim und Alzey

Zweckverband Abwasserentsorgung Rheinhessen (ZAR) Amtgasse 10 55232 AlzeyGermanyPublished on Jul 14, 2026

Description

The ZAR plans to reorganise the sludge treatment for the Flonheim and Alzey wastewater treatment plants. It is intended that the sludge generated at the Flonheim wastewater treatment plant will be treated at the Alzey wastewater treatment plant in the future. This will partially restructure and coordinate the sludge treatment at both locations. To implement this project, structural, procedural and technical measures are required at both wastewater treatment plants. In Flonheim, this primarily concerns the adaptation and reorganisation of plant components that are necessary for future sludge treatment and the transport of the sludge generated. Since the sludge generated in Flonheim is to be transported to Alzey for further treatment, it no longer needs to be aerobically stabilised with high energy expenditure. For this purpose, a pre-clarification must be constructed as an additional mechanical treatment to separate energy-rich primary sludge before biological treatment. The biological purification may need to be structurally and technically adapted to the shortened retention times for nitrification, denitrification and phosphate precipitation resulting from this. In Alzey, measures are particularly required to accommodate and further treat the additional sludge quantities and to adapt the process and plant technology relevant to this. The mechanical purification at this location is also to be renewed due to age. The general planning services required for the preparation and implementation of this project are to be tendered. The aim is to plan and realise the structures, plants and technical facilities required at both locations. The planning and implementation will take place during the ongoing operation of both wastewater treatment plants and must therefore be prepared in sections so that wastewater treatment, sludge treatment and operational safety are ensured at all times. The procedural boundary conditions are significantly determined by the strongly fluctuating loads, particularly at the Flonheim wastewater treatment plant due to the wine-growing campaign.
