The University of Bremen intends to renovate the "Geisteswissenschaften 2" (GW2) building, which was constructed in the 1970s. The subject of this tender is the planning services for the building design and the specialist planning services for the technical equipment for the renovation of level 1 of GW2. There is a non-binding concept study available, which was created based on a partial renovation of the level originally planned. For level 01, a partial hazardous substance register has also been created, which is currently being updated. As part of the investigation, asbestos and KMF were found in particular. The overall structural condition of the building is precarious in terms of fire protection. This includes the construction of drywall partitions or technical systems. Since, due to the contamination, the walls and ceilings can only be renovated with disproportionate effort, the construction area will be gutted and rebuilt, taking into account all fire protection criteria. According to a first cost estimate, the total project costs amount to approximately 12.0 million EUR gross.
