Under the award procedure with competitive dialogue in accordance with § 17 and § 74 VgV, a HLS planner is to be appointed for the expansion and renovation of the specialist classrooms at Gymnasium Unterrieden in Sindelfingen. Gymnasium Unterrieden was built in 1979 and consists of a three-story main building and a three-court sports hall. In the 2025/2026 school year, a total of 769 students attend Gymnasium Unterrieden. Classes 5 to 12 are taught in four streams. With the introduction of the nine-year Gymnasium (G9) in the 2025/2026 school year, the number of students will change, but the school will remain four-stream. The science specialist classrooms are largely in their original condition and do not meet either current pedagogical requirements or current technical standards. The necessary specialist classrooms can basically be accommodated by a reorganisation of the existing areas within the existing buildings. In addition, based on the model room programme for a four-stream Gymnasium in G9 operation, there are space requirements in the areas of full-day rooms, differentiation rooms and an additional classroom. In 2025, a preliminary investigation was carried out by the office Zimmermann and Nagel Architekten. The results were presented to the municipal bodies in October 2025 and a fundamental decision was made to renovate the science specialist rooms and to expand the school as part of the introduction of G9. The specialist classrooms are to be comprehensively renovated and restructured. To cover the additional space requirements, the existing school is to be expanded by a compact two-storey new building, which is to be used as an interim building during the renovation of the specialist classrooms. The urban integration and the concrete design of the building structures are to be examined in variants in the further planning process. The construction measure is to be implemented during ongoing school operations. For this purpose, a construction and moving concept with suitable construction sections and relocations is to be developed in order to keep the disruptions to school operations as low as possible. Room enlargements within the existing structure are possible by moving corridor walls; an extension of the existing areas by moving the outer facades is not planned. The specialist classrooms to be renovated in the existing building comprise a usable area of around 1,400 m². To cover the additional space requirements, the extension new building with a required usable area of around 540 m² is planned. The gross estimated costs for the general renovation of the specialist classrooms including the extension new building amount to a total of around 12.3 million € for cost groups 200 to 700. Planning will start immediately after the award of the contract. The selection committee is scheduled for week 43/2026, the bidder dialogues are scheduled to take place in week 49/2026 according to the current status. Bidding as a consortium is possible (the form 234 is to be completed accordingly). In the case of consortiums, the information and references are to be considered in total for the consortium. The reference is also considered to be fulfilled if the service was provided as the responsible project manager in another office. In this case, a written confirmation from the other office or the client is to be submitted regarding the responsible project management (the form I.3 EU is to be completed).
