Switzerland – Architectural and related services – Ausbildungszentrum Riedikon, Neubau Logistik- und Verwaltungszentrum

On the property plot no. L1340, Bühlenweg 20 in Riedikon, the Emergency Services Group of the City of Uster operates a training centre. The total property area is 28,573 m2, of which 10,400 m2 is used for the training centre, 4,600 m2 is rented to the dog club, and 9,300 m2 is leased for agricultural use. 4,273 m2 is remaining land with forest and moor. The training centre consists of various training buildings and areas, as well as the associated changing rooms, training rooms, administrative offices and storage rooms. The two fire training buildings were newly constructed in recent years and are up-to-date. The ancillary buildings are partly in poor condition and urgently need renovation. With the sublease contract for the Zeughaus West site to a non-profit housing cooperative, the Civil Protection will have to leave this site in the near future and will need new parking areas for the vehicles and a place to gather. For these two reasons, it was decided to expand the training centre with a new logistics and administrative centre. This way, the entire Civil Protection can be accommodated at a central location and training sessions can be held.
