In section 3.2 of the Planfeststellungsabschnitt, extensive construction measures are required for the RRX project. In section 3.2 of the Planfeststellungsabschnitt, from the city boundary D/DU to the stop Duisburg-Schlenk (kilometer 53.4-60.1, based on route 2650), a continuous six-track layout will be implemented. To this end, two additional tracks will be built between the city boundary and Großenbaum station, and one additional track will be built between the stop Duisburg-Buchholz and the northern boundary of the Planfeststellungsabschnitt. In this context, the stop DU-Rahm will be newly constructed, a new crossing structure will be built at Wedauer Straße, and various railway overpasses will be expanded. In summary, the following LST main measures will be implemented: 1) Expansion of the ESTW-UZ Duisburg Hbf by a second control centre 2) Equipping the new tracks and adapting the existing tracks with Ks signalling technology, partially with the new establishment of a track change operation on route 2650. Numerous signals, routes, axle counting circuits and so on will be installed and adapted. On route 2650, line-based train control is also installed in the existing infrastructure. 3) Newly constructed ESTW components must be planned to be ETCS-ready and iUZ-compatible.
