The 2nd S-Bahn trunk line Munich is being constructed in partial parallel alignment to the north of the existing S-Bahn trunk line between Munich-Laim station and Munich Leuchtenbergring station. The mountain tunnelling consists of two traffic tunnel tubes, one exploration and rescue tunnel as well as numerous ancillary facilities. The subject BVB services relate to construction section 50 (BA 50). This includes the tunnel from Marienhof (Hp MMHO) to the ramp/distribution structure east of Berg-am-Laim-Straße (BaL) as well as the construction of the new underground Ostbahnhof station (Hp MOPT).
