The junction of Ringstraße / Memminger Straße (Allgäuer Ring) is a heavily congested roundabout with a high accident rate, particularly due to cycling accidents. The current design, with two-lane entrances and large radii, encourages high speeds. The roundabout is to be reconstructed with the following objectives:

- Improvement of traffic safety, especially for pedestrians and cyclists.

- Maintenance of capacity and urban integration.

- Level crossings for pedestrians and cyclists at entrances and exits.

- Two narrow entrance lanes and one narrow exit lane to reduce speeds.

- Improvement of the hydraulic capacity of the drainage system.
