The AG, as the central IT provider and digitalisation partner of the DB Group, aims to expand its portfolio to include solutions in the field of immersive technologies. The objective is to establish Group-wide standard services, in this specific case for the execution of inspection, maintenance and repair activities supported by Augmented Reality (AR). To be able to supply further Group companies of Deutsche Bahn AG as customers of the contracting authority with services of this kind, a software solution is required with which AR-supported step-by-step instructions can be created and consumed with low barriers. The focus is on "Expert Generated Content". Users without programming knowledge should be able to create instructions intuitively on their own with an editor. Instruction steps should provide context-related assistance for execution with descriptions, images or video data and a spatial location. In addition, required documentation aspects should be defined and carried out in the course of the execution of the instructions. A spatial location should also be possible for the recording of detected defects for later localisation. A major focus is also on interoperability and integration with other systems based on extensive API interfaces provided by the SaaS. In particular, the manual effort required for creating instructions should be minimised by the automated creation and updating based on existing knowledge management systems, thus minimising the initial threshold for use. The software solution of the contractor will be provided to the AG as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), i.e. the operation of the software solution will be carried out completely by the contractor in one of the contractor's cloud environments.
