On the state-owned property at Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße 143 in 14469 Potsdam, which is in the economic ownership of the State of Brandenburg, represented by the Brandenburg State Office for Real Estate and Construction, the construction of a new administrative building is planned. This new building, future House 42 (a+b), is planned to accommodate the additional administrative space needed by the Eiche Police Headquarters. Various departments, which are already located on the property, are to be housed in it. There is no valid land-use plan for the property, but it is located in the so-called buffer zone of a UNESCO World Heritage site, due to its proximity to the Lindstedt Palace Garden and the Klausberg as part of the Sanssouci Palace Park. The planned construction site is currently used as a parking area and is located on a new area to be developed on the property. The findings regarding the volume and location of the building structure, which emerged from a target plan from 2019, are now to be implemented. The new building is to have an overall length of 75-90 m, a width of approx. 12-15 m and a maximum of three storeys to blend in with the surrounding buildings. The building is oriented in a north-south direction and is to be accessed via a central entrance opposite House 12.
