The Frankfurt Red Cross Clinics e.V. intend to expand the Central-OP unit at the Klinik Rotes Kreuz site in Frankfurt am Main by adding an operating room with corresponding ancillary spaces, as well as expanding the existing central sterile supply department with ancillary spaces. The project involves the construction of a two-story, non-basement building with central ventilation technology on a green flat roof, as well as the erection of an access tower including elevators on the north side of the building. This will, among other things, enable the access to the new sterile supply corridor. The connection to the existing building is made via a small patio in the immediate continuation of the existing OP main corridor. The existing recovery room, located in the southern part of the building, will be expanded to include an isolation area with two beds. On the ground floor of the extension, doctors' offices with their own access are located. The main access during the construction of the new OP extension will be via a connecting corridor on the west side of the existing building. Further construction measures will be carried out on the hospital grounds. The total costs (KG100-600) for the planned expansion measures amount to approximately 15 million € gross. Subsidies will be used for this project. The works will be carried out in a confined urban space and during ongoing hospital operations. Access to the construction site in the inner courtyard of the clinic campus is via Königswarterstraße.
