Section 130a(8) of the German Social Code Book V (SGB V) enables health insurance funds and pharmaceutical companies to conclude framework discount contracts for medicines to be dispensed at the expense of the statutory health insurance funds. In view of the relevant legal provisions for the award of public contracts, the DAK-Gesundheit regularly conducts substance-related, formal tendering procedures according to the rules of Part 4 of the German Act Against Restraints of Competition (GWB). For medicines to be specified by the bidder in more detail in Annex 2 to the contract for the aforementioned active substance Estradiol + Dienogest, ATC G03AB08, the DAK-Gesundheit intends to conclude medicine discount contracts with as many interested pharmaceutical companies as possible until new medicine discount contracts come into force. A discount contract under the authorisation model for the aforementioned active substance comes into force for the first time on 01.03.2026 and ends on 29.02.2028 (plus extension option 1x12 months). It ends automatically with the entry into force of the exclusive contract, regardless.
