Description

Hamburg Energiewerke GmbH (HEnW) aims to phase out coal by 2030 and achieve greenhouse gas-neutral heat supply for Hamburg by 2040. A key component is the transformation of the Tiefstack power plant site into the Tiefstack Energy Park as part of the TiTra (Tiefstack Transformation) program. The subject matter relates to Subproject 4 (Construction of a river water heat pump, Billwerder Bucht heat pump). The objective is to provide a thermal output of at least 60 MWth. The existing cooling water system of the power plant will be used to extract water from Billwerder Bucht. For this purpose, an intake and discharge line will be connected to the existing main cooling water line DN 2000 (prestressed concrete). As a preparatory measure, a new river water connection module will be integrated into the main cooling water system during the planned maintenance period of the power plant in the summer of 2027. The main cooling water system DN 2000 will be out of service for approximately 6 weeks for this purpose.
