Within the framework of energy efficiency measures at the IST Austria campus, the existing lighting in several buildings of Phase 1 is to be retrofitted to modern LED technology. Currently, numerous offices, laboratories and corridors still operate with fluorescent tubes, energy-saving lamps or comparable systems that no longer meet the state of the art and cause increased energy consumption and maintenance effort.
