Sweden – Earthmoving and excavating machinery, and associated parts – Ramavtal Hjul-/Bandgående grävmaskiner

The Swedish Armed Forces intends to replace its mid-sized excavators (GL) 461 (Volvo 6300/EL70) which were procured for the Swedish Armed Forces during the 1990s and which, in the near future, will reach the end of their lifecycle. Although there are a large number of excavators in use, it is an accelerating problem to obtain spare parts for the vehicles. The procurement of wheeled and tracked excavators is intended to replace existing GL 461, where excavators have been chosen as replacements as the excavators available on the market today come with a price tag that is not defensible. The procurement will include one type of wheeled excavator and three types of tracked excavators. The procurement also includes spare parts, documentation, training and service/support. The framework agreement has a total volume of 120 excavators with an option to increase the volume by a further total of 50 excavators. The length of the framework agreement is planned to be 4 years with the possibility of extension by a further 1+1+1 years.
