The Heilig Hartziekenhuis in Lier wishes to replace its bedpan washers. This contract concerns the delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of macerators. A macerator is a device for human bodily excretions that, after collection, are discharged into the sewer system via pulp material. The pulp material can be placed in the device along with its contents, and the contents are macerated into small particles. The device is a hygienic alternative to a bedpan washer. The contractor is responsible for a ready-to-use delivery of the macerators, including all necessary connections, tests, and user instruction. The deliveries are spread over the full contract duration and currently total 24 units. Taking into account the planned purchase of 4 macerators per year, the full replacement process is scheduled over a period of 6 years. This number can change during the term of the agreement. In addition, the contract includes preventive maintenance during the term of the agreement, ensuring safe, reliable, and continuous operation of the devices. The contract includes, in addition to the macerators and their maintenance, the delivery of pulp consumables. These consumables will be procured from the supplier of the devices for at least 2 years. If, by the end of this period, no new contract for the consumables has been awarded, this procurement can be temporarily extended to guarantee the continuity of operations. If the delivery of the consumables is awarded via a separate contract to another contractor, the procurement of the consumables within this contract will automatically cease from the start date of the new contract, without any compensation being due.
