Germany – Network components – Rahmenvereinbarung über Cisco-Komponenten und Services

With its 43,000 students and approximately 13,000 employees, the Universität Hamburg is one of the largest universities in Germany. With the Uni-Campus and a variety of buildings within the city limits, the network is based on a very complex IT infrastructure. In addition to the network, Cisco solutions are also used in the datacenter and IT security sectors today. The requirements for a framework agreement for the procurement of Cisco components described in this specification serve to replace and/or expand the existing network components. Therefore, the present procedure does not intend to completely replace the existing networks or change the fundamental network design. The aim of the tendering process is to regulate the procurement of required Cisco components and to commission service, support and maintenance services at agreed conditions, in order to optimise the commissioning process and to achieve price and planning security. The requirements for a framework agreement for the procurement of Cisco components described in the specification serve to replace and/or expand the existing network components in the technology fields of switching, routing, WLAN, datacenter and security as well as corresponding software and cloud subscriptions. Therefore, the present procedure does not intend to completely replace the existing networks or change the fundamental network design. For this purpose, suitable product groups are formed for the framework agreement. However, the framework agreement provides for the possibility to order components from the surveyed technology fields that are not covered by Cisco. This primarily applies to the technology field of switching, specifically for the procurement of alternative, compatible port adapters (GBICs, SFPs). The aim of the procedure is to conclude a framework agreement for a period of five years for the procurement of required components of the company Cisco, compatible accessories as well as for the commissioning of service, support and maintenance services at agreed conditions. The subject of this tendering process is: • The delivery of new Cisco components and compatible accessories • Service for new Cisco components • Takeover of service for existing Cisco components • Support and maintenance services within the network infrastructure The procedure is carried out by the Strategic Procurement and the Regional Computing Centre of the Universität Hamburg (RRZ) on behalf of further educational institutions (eligible parties) pursuant to § 4 VgV.
