Description

The municipality of Hohenhameln needs to expand the currently 3-track expanded site of the Grundschule Hohenhameln to a 4-track system and additionally create a spatial offer for full-day care including a canteen. The background to the planning task is the almost simultaneous termination of the school district cooperation for two localities of the municipality with the neighbouring city of Peine as well as by the Landkreis Peine for the premises of the full-day care including canteen use in the district-owned school centre in the locality of Hohenhameln. From the school year 2027/28, the respective first-graders will additionally be enrolled at the Hohenhameln site, so that full 4-track operation will be achieved from the school year 2030/31. There is still a space reserve for another classroom in the existing structure, so that from the school year 2028/29, temporary room containers will already have to be used. As part of a feasibility study, various options at both primary school sites of the municipality were examined and evaluated. The politically decided result of the attached study represents an option at the Hohenhameln site (reallocation of the West wing, replacement new building incl. extension of the North wing, extension of the East wing) and can be used for orientation in the planning. The politically requested addition of a canteen, together with full-day care, was recommended in the first version of the feasibility study. For this purpose, only the floor plan concept was supplemented in the follow-up with regard to an open full-day school concept. The structural expansion of the school should essentially be limited to the current plot of land, plot 13/17. The lime tree standing centrally in the schoolyard represents an ideal value and its preservation is desirable but not mandatory. On the eastern adjacent plot, plot 13/18, sufficient space must be kept free for the optional erection of a 2-court sports hall at a later date and, in addition, a structural connection to the school building must be provided without renewed restructuring of the school and care rooms. The area can be used in full for the temporary provision of room containers during the construction and conversion phase. The services for planning, tendering and erection of the room containers are not part of this planning contract. The adjacent plot 208/13 to the north can be included in the planning for development to the extent that the use as a football pitch is not impaired. The existing old trees are to be preserved ideally. The school building originally dates back to the 1930s and was extended on the west wing, street side, by a flat roof extension in 2001. The West wing is two-storey, the East and North wings are single-storey, each with gable roofs. The building-connecting North wing consists on the south side to the schoolyard of an open colonnade, on the north side are essentially the sanitary facilities as well as caretaker and storage rooms. The north-western part of the building is cellared. The attic of the West wing is accessible by a staircase and is used as a storage room. The insulation of the facades and the roof storey ceilings was successively supplemented in the 2010s. The core substance of the building shows no apparent damage and can be used further in principle with adaptation/extension of the insulation of the building shell, implementation of acoustic ceilings/ elements and renewal of the building services. In the planning, the room programme created by the school sponsor is to be checked for compliance with current regulations and laws as well as the school building recommendations and to be taken into account in the planning process after coordination. Building design LPH 1-9 and special services. Further information can be found in the Information on the subject of the service.
