The subject of the procurement is goods: portable scientific equipment and workstations within the project “Equipping of Laboratories and Facilities of the Croatian Forest Research Institute” which began on 16 February 2026 and lasts until 16 August 2028. The project is financed by a loan from the World Bank, and the implementing body is the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth. The project represents a strategic investment in strengthening research infrastructure of national importance in the STEM field, particularly biotechnological sciences, forestry and the environment. In Jastrebarsko, the central research infrastructure of the Croatian Forest Institute is being upgraded, which operates as a national centre for applied research, development and innovation in the field of forestry technologies. The project's goal is to equip newly constructed and reconstructed spaces of the Institute with modern scientific, technical and ancillary equipment and to procure portable equipment. This continues the modernization process started in 2023, with the aim of increasing research excellence, competitiveness and innovative capacity in the fields of forestry, ecology and biotechnological sciences. The total value of the project is 4,992,696.14 EUR. The project includes equipping specialized laboratories, shared research spaces and office capacities with advanced laboratory and analytical instruments, field equipment, remote sensing systems, IT and server infrastructure, and specialized software. The investment contributes to digitalization, green transition and modernization of research infrastructure. Implementation of the project strengthens institutional capacities for conducting top-level fundamental and applied research and promotes cooperation with international partners, the economy and the public sector. The project contributes to the development of a sustainable and knowledge-based economy, the enhancement of monitoring and management of forest ecosystems, and the response to the challenges of climate change and biodiversity conservation.
