The Office for Roads and Traffic intends to merge the previously separate bus and tram stations of Kattenturm-Mitte into a single stop for buses and trams. The merger of the stops aims to simplify the previously cumbersome and time-consuming transfers, especially for people with mobility impairments. The new layout of the tram tracks for bus traffic creates new crossing options over the tram tracks, so that journey times can be shortened.
