Germany – Laboratory, optical and precision equipments (excl. glasses) – Rahmenvereinbarung Insektenkästen und Systemeinsätzen (Unit-Trays) für die Entomologischen Sammlungen am LIB Museum Koenig, Bonn (Los 1), sowie am LIB Museum der Natur, Hamburg (Los 2)

The subject of this procurement is the award of a framework agreement for 3 years for the procurement of new insect boxes with standardised system trays (unit trays) of different sizes for the transfer of collection material from heavily biocide-contaminated historical insect boxes at the locations Bonn and Hamburg, the ongoing measures of collection mobilisation for the new construction project new Natural History Museum Hamburg, and the storage and long-term conservation of the Entomological Collections of the LIB at the locations Museum of Nature Hamburg and Museum Koenig in Bonn. For the long-term conservation of collections of Cultural Heritage, the insect boxes must meet the requirements of DIN EN 16893:2018 in Annex B (temperature stability of materials for storing objects of cultural heritage), Annex C (stability of materials for storing objects of cultural heritage against humidity fluctuations), and Annex D (avoidance of release of internal pollutants) in terms of chemical and mechanical stability or release of possible volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Furthermore, the insect boxes and unit trays must support the requirements of DIN EN 16790:2016-12 (Integrated Pest Management, IPM) as best as possible in terms of manufacture and quality and, in particular, the box and lid must form a hermetically sealed closure and provide the best possible protection against harmful pests (e.g. museum beetles or moths). The insect boxes must safely store the collection material and ensure its easy handling. Particular attention must be paid to the fact that the individual components such as woods, paints, coatings, silicones or plastics do not emit reactive volatile compounds during manufacture, such as volatile organic compounds, solvents or other reactive compounds (VOCs) that could damage the collection material.
