Finland – Health and social work services – Ohkolan sairaalan pitkäaikaishoidossa olevien potilaiden suun terveydenhuollon palvelujen järjestäminen

The subject of the procurement is dental care services (dentist-dental assistant team and dental hygienist) for 120 long-term patients at Ohkolan sairaala (Ohkolantie 10, Kellokoski), almost all of whom have a psychosis diagnosis. Psychosis often involves a decrease in functional ability, which may also be seen as an inadequate ability to take care of one's own oral hygiene. Additionally, problems with life management and functional ability often involve harmful eating habits and/or the use of nicotine products from an oral health perspective. The need for dental care is high and previous dental care has often not been implemented for a long time. The patients' treatment time at the hospital is long-term, with an average treatment time of several years. The service is arranged in the premises of Ohkolan sairaala with the service provider's equipment (the space must also be available for other activities on days when dental care is not provided) or in the courtyard area of Ohkolan sairaala with the service provider's mobile service on regularly agreed days in advance, for example 1 day a week. The method of implementation does not affect the comparison of tenders, provided that the service meets the requirements set out in the invitation to tender. Treatment includes examination of the mouth, necessary intraoral images and treatment according to the treatment plan, which may include periodontal treatment, restorative treatment, minor surgical procedures performed at the general dentist's reception, prosthetic treatment and preventive treatment. The service provider with the most points (the one who submitted the lowest price) in the tender competition will be selected. The contract period is two (2) years and it can be extended by two (2) one (1) year option periods.
