Description

The State Road Construction and Traffic Authority of Schleswig-Holstein, Lübeck site, and the Lower Saxony State Road Construction and Traffic Authority, Lüneburg regional business unit, plan jointly, under the contract management of the federal road construction authority, the replacement construction of the B 209 Elbe crossing at Lauenburg/Hohnstorf with the new construction of the Lauenburg Ost bypass. The project is a subproject of the planning “B 5 / B 209 Elbe crossing at Lauenburg/Hohnstorf with bypasses”. The preferred option for the Elbe crossing has not yet been determined by the road construction authority at this time. The final choice is between the two bridge variants close to the existing infrastructure, BBW-1-0-BR (“Bestand-West”) and BBO-1-4-BR (“Bestand-Ost”). Depending on the variant, the length of the route between the connection points is approximately 2.6 to 2.7 km. Bestand-West includes 2 bridges, one over the Elbe and one over the railway line east of Lauenburg station. Bestand-Ost includes a long bridge over the Elbe and parts of the adjacent Lauenburg Elbwarder located behind the sea dike. Further to the east, both variants run together on former industrial tracks along the Lauenburg-Ost industrial estate and along the existing industrial estate connection to the B 5. The road is planned as a two-lane federal highway with a standard cross-section RQ 11 and an accompanying cycle path. The subject of the service is the provision of floristic-faunistic services for an area of 500 m around the two variants of the construction project (approx. 400 ha) as a basis for further landscape planning specialist contributions such as the Landscape Management Accompanying Plan (LBP), the Species Protection Contribution (ASB) and the Habitats Directive Compatibility Check (FFH-VP) at the levels of design planning and approval planning.
