Description

This tender aims to select the contractor responsible for the design and supervision of the construction of a new wing for temporary exhibitions and a sculpture garden, as well as the partial redevelopment of the reception areas of the Hôtel Salé. The Musée National Picasso-Paris houses a unique collection of Picasso's works with more than 5 000 pieces ranging from the Blue Period to his late paintings, his archives, and his personal collection. In September 2025, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Musée National Picasso announced its commitment to the ambitious PICASSO 2030 project, an operation to consolidate its offering by 2030, aiming to anchor the museum more firmly in its neighborhood through the construction of a new temporary exhibition space that meets both functional needs and the institution's renown, and the implementation of a sculpture garden. The museum's spaces located in the Hôtel Salé (a 17th-century private mansion, partially classified as a Historic Monument) are prestigious. The PICASSO 2030 project aims to envision a general redevelopment to make the museum's spaces more functional, for both the public and staff. The project aims to redevelop the 2 000 m² of surfaces located on the ground floor and basement of the Hôtel Salé, the creation, as an extension, of new surfaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions of nearly 800 m², the creation of a logistics and conservation hub of approximately 580 m² and 300 m² of new spaces for staff. The reunification of the Square Léonor Fini and the current museum garden is a major challenge of the PICASSO 2030 project, which aims to create a new, enhanced, attractive, and eco-friendly garden, open to the city and accessible to all audiences, and housing a collection of Picasso sculptures and will extend over nearly 2 400 m². The project will be developed in a BIM environment. The estimated financial envelope allocated to the works is 18M€ in Euros HT, March 2026 value. This amount includes all the work necessary for the implementation of the project, excluding the tolerance rate, and includes all the exterior work and landscaping necessary for the implementation of the project as well as the furniture (interior and exterior).
