The municipality of Havixbeck plans an energy renovation of the double gymnasium at the Anne-Frank Comprehensive School in Havixbeck. The gymnasium is used for sporting activities. This includes physical education as part of school education, as well as training and competition operations. In addition, the hall regularly hosts cultural events by the Havixbeck Music School. The sports hall is to be comprehensively renovated for energy efficiency. This will take into account the building envelope and the plant engineering, and achieve a reduction in total primary energy consumption by at least 50%. The existing building was constructed in one phase. Later, a school building was added. During the construction work, the hall will be closed, but the ongoing operation of the adjacent school building must be taken into account. Funding has been approved for the project from the EFRE/JTF-Programm NRW 2021-2027. The energy renovation must therefore be completed by the summer of 2028 at the latest.
