In Baden-Württemberg, there are comprehensive hydraulic watercourse models (HWGK) for approximately 11,300 kilometers of rivers, which are to be progressively updated. The HWGK meet the requirements of the EU Floods Directive (EG-HWRM-RL) as well as the very high requirements of §65 of the Baden-Württemberg Water Act. They have direct legal effect, which is why the quality requirements are correspondingly high. For approximately 72 kilometers of watercourses in the catchment area of the Glatt, the existing HWGK are to be updated. Hydraulic calculations (2-dimensional, unsteady) are to be carried out in each case, following the specified procedure. All hydraulically relevant structures in and around the watercourse and on the floodplains (e.g. buildings, diversions, ditches) must be taken into account. The results are to be transferred into the HWGK data standard and submitted in the specified data format.
