Within the framework of the project “Construction of a sports field in Dolhești commune, Iași county”, COD SMIS: 348673, an electric minibus will also be procured. The facility for transporting to and from school will reduce educational delays for students, increase attendance rates, and ensure an increase in safety and comfort. The procurement of a minibus contributes to the prevention and reduction of school dropout rates, improves the quality of learning through improved school results, and increases the percentage of students promoted to the next level and an appropriate level of competencies. Furthermore, the procurement of non-polluting and energy-efficient road transport vehicles demonstrates a responsible attitude towards the environment, resulting in a healthier living environment for all citizens. The procurement of an electric school minibus is necessary to ensure the transport of students from Dolhești commune, Iași county, in order to facilitate their access to the sporting and educational activities carried out within the project “Construction of a sports field in Dolhești commune, Iași county”, COD SMIS: 348673. The electric school minibus is included in the project under the expenditure category “Equipment, technological and functional equipment that does not require assembly and transport equipment”, representing a transport equipment necessary for achieving the project's objectives and for ensuring beneficiaries' access to the newly created sports infrastructure. The need for procurement is determined by the need to ensure organised, safe and efficient transport of students, including those from localities belonging to the commune, to and from the sports field. By providing a dedicated means of transport, the conditions are created for the participation of as many students as possible in sporting and extracurricular activities. The choice of an electrically powered minibus is appropriate in view of the need to modernise the means of transport available to the local community and to reduce the impact on the environment. The use of an electric vehicle contributes to the reduction of pollutant emissions and noise levels and supports the promotion of sustainable and efficient transport in terms of resource use. The procurement directly contributes to the valorisation of the investment made through the project, by facilitating students' access to the sports infrastructure and by creating the conditions for its appropriate use by as many beneficiaries as possible. Given that the electric school minibus is provided for in the project and is classified under the category “Equipment, technological and functional equipment that does not require assembly and transport equipment”, its procurement is necessary and appropriate for achieving the project's objectives and for ensuring adequate transport conditions for students. Consequently, it is imperative to initiate the procurement procedure for an electric school minibus, in accordance with the identified needs and the provisions of the approved project, with compliance with the applicable legislation in the field of public procurement.
