Germany – Public-service buses – Beschaffung, Wartung und Reparatur von Wasserstoffhybrid- und batterieelektrischen Bussen für den ÖPNV

Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK) is a modern transport company with the capacity, knowledge and commitment to move people in the Rhineland at the highest technical level. Together with its owners and clients, RVK continuously works on implementing an attractive, environmentally friendly and sustainable public transport. More than 1,050 employees ensure that more than 23 million passengers reach their destination safely each year. The core transport area of the RVK covers the district of Euskirchen, the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and the left-bank Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. In addition, RVK provides its services in the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Leverkusen, Hürth, Brühl and Wesseling. Services are provided on its own lines as well as on behalf of other transport companies. The subject of the tendering procedure is the procurement, maintenance and repair of hydrogen hybrid and battery electric solo buses for public transport. The procurement period extends from 2027 to 2029. The contract will be awarded in two lots: Lot 1 – Hydrogen hybrid solo buses Procurement of 8 hydrogen hybrid solo buses as a binding order quantity, plus optionally up to 29 further vehicles including the associated maintenance and repair services; maximum quantity is 37 vehicles. Lot 2 – Battery electric solo buses Procurement of 49 battery electric solo buses as a binding order quantity, plus optionally up to 19 further vehicles including the associated maintenance and repair services. Maximum quantity is 68 vehicles. Also subject to the tendered services is the maintenance and upkeep of the vehicles within the framework of a full-service contract over the service life of the vehicles (12 years). The tender documents will provide that a suitable workshop network must be demonstrated at the latest with the binding offer. Details are given in the tender documents. The current procurement is subject to the following cancellation reservations due to circumstances not solely influenced by the contracting authority: In order to implement the project, the contracting authority is absolutely dependent on the granting of public funding. This has been applied for; however, a funding notice has not yet been issued but is to be secured by the time of the contract award. If funding has not been granted before the award of contract, which sustainably covers the project costs, the contracting authority reserves the right to cancel the procedure (possibly also with regard to an individual lot) and not to award the contract.
