Austria – Cogeneration plant construction work – BMHKW Kaindl: Wäremauskopplung UFO 2

Salzburg AG für Energie, Verkehr und TelekommunikationAustriaPublished on Jul 23, 2026
No deadline given

Description

The company Kaindl Energy GmbH is constructing a combined heat and power (CHP) plant at its site in Wals-Siezenheim with a fuel heat output of approximately 145 MW, a thermal output of approximately 100 MW and an electrical output of approximately 32 MW. The green electricity produced by the CHP plant from biomass is to be largely consumed on site by Kaindl as own consumption. A large portion of the heat produced is to be supplied as district heating (DH) into the district heating network of Salzburg AG. For this purpose, Salzburg AG, as the operator of this network, plans to construct a high-performance heat transfer station including grid feed-in and storage tank at the Kaindl site with a maximum thermal transmission capacity of 55 MW. The subject of the heat contract is the supply (and acceptance by Salzburg AG) of biogenic or decarbonized heat or waste heat from regenerative primary energy sources from Kaindl to Salzburg AG.
