The main building of the ETH is the origin of the federal institute of technology. Architecturally, it is one of the most significant buildings of national cultural heritage of educational buildings. It is therefore accompanied by the federal government in terms of monument preservation and requires corresponding professional sensitivities in dealing with its substance. Additions, technical and operational adaptations are part of the building history of the main building and have been implemented respectfully for generations. This will continue to be the case. The condition of the building substance and the outdoor facilities of the ETH main building is in need of renovation in some places, particularly in the facade area, corresponding renovations should be carried out in the medium term. Conservation-compliant renovation work on window and window door elements is to be carried out on the object. The corresponding elements are usually constructions by the architect Gustav Gull from the period 1914 to 1925. The overall renovation of the windows includes a total of 437 windows.
