Netherlands – Engineering works and construction works – Realisatie Civieltechnisch bouwwerk t.b.v. procesinstallatie (CO2 capture plant) bij HVC Alkmaar
Description
HVC has set itself the goal of emitting one million tonnes less CO2 in 2035 than in 2025. It aims to achieve this, among other things, by developing a CO2 capture installation at the HVC site in Alkmaar. The aim of this installation is to capture 100 kilotonnes of CO2 and sell the captured CO2 (CCU). For comparison: this corresponds to the average CO2 emissions from the energy consumption of 30,816 households. In 2024, after a tendering procedure, HVC concluded a contract with supplier SLB Capturi | SLB Capturi (SLBC) for the construction of a CO2 capture installation at the HVC site in Alkmaar. In the past period, HVC has worked with SLBC on a FEED (front-end engineering design). The FEED will be ready in June 2026. Supplier SLBC of the capture installation has excluded civil works and the Balance of Plant from its delivery. These must be arranged by HVC itself. For this purpose, HVC has initiated three procurement projects: • Engineering, Making Construction-Ready and Civil (Engineering) • Making Construction-Ready (BMR) • Civil Engineering Structure (Civil) The Mercell environment, the guideline and tendering procedure specifically relate to the component: civil engineering structure The Assignment, in short, concerns: The works include the complete civil engineering realisation of the new construction of the CO2 capture installation on the site of HVC in Alkmaar. The assignment consists of setting up the construction site, carrying out temporary provisions and dewatering, carrying out demolition and earthworks, and realising site development and site hardening. In addition, the assignment includes the construction of surface water and site drainage, drainage provisions, green provisions and traffic provisions. Furthermore, the assignment includes the realisation of foundations for the various process installations and buildings, including foundation piles, heavy in-situ concrete structures, foundation plates, basement constructions, floors, backfill and liquid-tight hardenings. Also, the building works for the E-building and the compressor building are part of the assignment, including masonry, prefabricated concrete elements, steel structures, facades, roofs, window frames, doors and other building finishing works. In addition, the contractor is responsible for the coordination of savings, penetrations, collapse provisions and the alignment with the building-related and installations.
