The Swedish Transport Administration ("the Contracting Authority") hereby invites tenderers to apply to qualify for the procurement of the traffic contract E59 concerning commuter train operations in Stockholm County and certain adjacent counties. The procurement is carried out in two steps, where in the first step, tenderers can apply to be preliminarily qualified in the procurement, in step 2, tenderers who have been preliminarily qualified receive a tender invitation and thus the opportunity to submit a tender in the procurement. In step 2, preliminarily qualified tenderers (hereinafter referred to as tenderers) gain access to the full procurement documentation required to submit a tender. Tenderers may be excluded from further participation in the procurement if the requirements set out in the procurement are not met.

The procurement covers contracts concerning the operation of commuter train services. In addition to traffic operation of the commuter trains, the contracts include, inter alia, traffic planning, traffic information, ticket validation, operation and maintenance of stations, depots and vehicles. The commuter train operations have five lines with a total of 54 stations and a total track length of approximately 240 km. The stations are located in Stockholm County, except for Knivsta and the terminal stations Bålsta and Uppsala, which are located in Uppsala County, and the terminal station Gnesta, which is located in Södermanland County.

Passengers: Approximately 350,000 board per day on a winter weekday. Traffic: 15-minute intervals on the line connecting to the City Line. 30-minute intervals in the outer parts. Traffic is doubled in the inner parts during peak hours. Gnesta Line - hourly intervals during off-peak hours, half-hourly intervals during peak hours and hourly intervals every other hour during off-peak hours. The most frequent service is 16 trains per hour on the City Line. Vehicles: 129 vehicles of type X60/A and X60B. Delivered 2005-2017.
