The Cologne Transport Company AG (KVB AG) intends to carry out mechanical rail processing to maintain operational safety, which is endangered, among other things, by rail defects. The locations where rail processing is necessary can be found throughout the KVB AG network. The tender will be divided into 2 lots. Lot 1 refers to the above-ground track sections, and Lot 2 refers to the underground sections. The aim of the mechanical rail processing is to correct or reduce rail surface defects, to create a continuous longitudinal rail head profile, and to reprofile the transverse rail head profile. The work is to be carried out on both ballasted track and slab track. Both Vignoles rails and grooved rails, which are occasionally interrupted by rail extraction devices, points, level crossings, etc., will be processed.
