Description

The Stadthaus at Grafenstraße 30 in Darmstadt is a four-storey administrative building from 1958 with a gross floor area of approximately 6,430 m². Until 2022, the building was used by the Bürger- und Ordnungsamt. Following the departure of the previous users, comprehensive renovation and redevelopment is planned. The building is classified as a cultural monument under Section 2(1) of the Hessian Monument Protection Act. The monument protection includes the entire building, including its external appearance, internal structure and fittings. The renovation will therefore take particular account of the monument protection requirements and will be carried out in close coordination with the responsible authorities. The future use will include exhibition and office space on the ground floor for the Verband Deutscher Sinti und Roma, Landesverband Hessen, office use by the financial administration on the upper floors and premises of the cultural office in the attic. The central IT node of the Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt currently located in the basement will be relocated to buildings available in the external area as part of the renovation. In preparation for the measure, an orienting contamination report and a preliminary restoration survey are available. The subject of the tender are the contamination remediation and disposal services required as part of the renovation, with particular consideration of the protected building fabric.
