Description

The planned construction project involves the creation of a modern, sustainable, and resilient healthcare campus in the district of Pinneberg. The project will consolidate the two existing hospital sites in Elmshorn and Pinneberg into a central hospital, along with additional complementary uses at the new central location in Pinneberg-Nord, known as Ossenpadd. The agreed goal with the shareholders is to achieve and ensure long-term, high-quality, demand- and patient-oriented medical care in the district of Pinneberg. Particular attention should be paid to the design of attractive workplaces, modern work environments, innovative treatment and care options, sustainability and cost efficiency in construction and operation, as well as the ergonomic and well-being-enhancing design. The parties involved in the hospital planning according to § 5 LKHG discussed the application for the hospital planning consolidation of the hospital sites in Elmshorn and Pinneberg into a central new hospital building and the resolution proposal of the MSGJFS for the new establishment of the investment plan at their meeting on 24 May 2022. The hospital planning consolidation was approved - albeit without determining the number of beds, which will be done at a later date - from the time of commissioning the new hospital building, as well as its inclusion in the state's financial plan. Following an extensive, politically desired, transparent, and publicly justified structured site search process, Regio Kliniken GmbH acquired a approximately 14-hectare greenfield site in Pinneberg-Nord (known as Ossenpadd). The decision to publish the updated development plan for the site (development plan 099) was made by the Pinneberg Urban Development Committee on 25.03.2025. Following the first public display, a further display procedure was necessary to address the concerns of public authorities. The second decision to publish was made on 05.11.2025. The resolution is expected to take place in spring 2026.
