Description

The City of Püttlingen (hereinafter: "Granting Authority") aims to provide comprehensive access to Gigabit networks. Furthermore, the Granting Authority aims to strengthen its economic location and ensure the competitiveness of its companies. Therefore, a concession contract for the construction and operation of Gigabit networks as well as the provision of end-user services is to be concluded with a telecommunications company in the areas specified below. The Granting Authority has submitted a funding application within the framework of the federal funding programme "Promotion of the Gigabit expansion of telecommunications networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Gigabit Directive 2.0" and has been granted preliminary approval for funding. The Granting Authority has also applied for co-financing for the federal funding according to the "Directive on the co-financing of the federal Gigabit funding in Saarland ("Gigabit Co-financing Directive Saarland")" and has been granted preliminary approval. The funding is to be provided through an investment grant in the amount of the so-called economic efficiency gap, i.e. in the amount of the difference between the net present value of all revenues and the net present value of the costs for network construction and operation.
