The Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) is an independent research and teaching institute dedicated to the exploration, protection and sustainable use of tropical coastal ecosystems. As a member of the Leibniz Association, the ZMT works inter- and transdisciplinary with various partners to create scientific foundations for the preservation of these sensitive ecosystems. As part of our work, the "Experimental Marine Laboratories", consisting of a tropical seawater experimental facility "MAREE" and biological-chemical laboratories, enable experiments on marine organisms to be planned, set up and accompanied up to the measurement of scientific samples. A significant part of our research also includes the examination of samples that reach us from the tropical regions at the institute. The chemical analytics department supports our scientists with a comprehensive portfolio of instruments. Measurements are carried out both in our chemistry laboratory at the ZMT and in the tropical partner countries and on ship expeditions. In addition, we offer training and training for students, scientists and guests to promote knowledge transfer and professional qualification in the field of chemical analytics.
