The Contracting Authority is seeking 1 Contractor to enter into an Agreement for the Contract “Koningswei in Tilburg, Participation in Design Team and possible subsequent implementation including 2-year maintenance” for the Departments of Space and Spatial Implementation of the Municipality of Tilburg. The Koningswei project involves the redevelopment of Koningsplein in the centre of Tilburg. The predominantly stony existing square will be transformed into a green living park — an intensive green roof / roof garden on the deck of the existing Koningsplein car park. The Contract comprises two phases that will be tendered together: Phase 1 - Design Team Phase (Services) and Phase 2 - Implementation and Maintenance Phase (Works). The core of the task lies in the intensive green roof / roof garden: creating a park on the deck of the existing car park, equipped with trees (in tree planters) which require a preparatory process, shrubs, perennials, a water retention and infiltration system, a buffer tank for irrigation, final and temporary hardstandings, play area, rainwater drainage, adapting and preserving the existing pergola. The structural possibilities and watertightness of the existing car park deck form a hard design boundary condition. In the design team phase, the Contractor is explicitly expected to add execution technical added value in terms of feasibility, phasing, cost control and environmental management in a high-density urban context. The Contractor will also act as V&G-coordinator design phase and has a coordination obligation with regard to the entire Design Team, the tree supplier(s) and subcontractors for public lighting.
