The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock is constructing a new kindergarten building. The future development consists of a building with a 2-storey kindergarten and a 1-storey canteen extension, both planned without a basement. The kindergarten building accommodates 176 kindergarten children and kindergarten teachers in 7 kindergarten rooms and 2 divisible support rooms. Sanitary facilities are distributed on both floors. The central zones on the ground floor are used for reception and cloakroom cabinets. On the upper floor, there is an additional area for activities. All levels are accessible without barriers. The kindergarten building also has a separate courtyard exit with an adjacent outdoor toilet. The kindergarten and canteen are accessed via a common entrance area. In this central building, WC facilities including a barrier-free WC are accessible. The barrier-free WC is also equipped with a shower area. The canteen is primarily for the primary school students of the Schmarler Primary School and is operated via the central midday catering of the Hanseatic City of Rostock. The serving kitchen then caters to approximately 320 users. Use of the canteen room within school operations and for events of the kindergarten should be possible. The roofs of the building sections house the associated ventilation and cooling systems. The roof area of the kindergarten is accessed via the emergency staircase. The roof receives extensive roof greening as a retention roof. The canteen roof also receives a PV system, also with roof greening. The outdoor design includes green spaces and paths taking into account the access to the sports hall and areas for the fire department. Car parks for cars, partially with ELT charging stations (preparation only), are arranged in front of the main entrance. Bike parking spaces are distributed throughout the site.
