Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Neubau Biologie und 4. Reinigungsstufe, Kläranlage Wildberg
Description
The municipality of Wildberg operates the mechanical-biological-chemical wastewater treatment plant Wildberg. This plant treats the wastewater from approximately 10,000 inhabitants from the districts of Wildberg, Effringen, Gültlingen, Schönbronn, and Sulz am Eck. Additionally, a sparkling water factory is connected. Most of the wastewater treatment plant was constructed in 1980. In 2001, the plant was expanded by a second treatment line, so that since then it consists of two separate biological treatment lines. The water is divided in the outflow of the sand trap to the two lines and is reunited in the outflow structure after secondary clarification. The municipality of Wildberg plans the construction of a 4th treatment stage. The most suitable construction site for the 4th treatment stage is the area of the combined tank (primary clarification, aeration tank) of line 1. Consequently, to implement the 4th treatment stage for secured wastewater treatment, new aeration tank volume must be provided. This will be achieved by constructing a second aeration tank line directly east of the existing line 2. The following measures are required for the implementation of the two structures:
- Expansion of the intermediate pumping station to the entire water volume of the wastewater treatment plant
- Conversion of the primary clarification 2 for distribution to the two aeration tank lines
- Construction of the aeration tank line (3 cascades)
- Conversion of the blowers station 2
- Construction of the pipe between aeration tank line and secondary clarification tank 1
- Construction of the return sludge pump station 1
- Adaptation of P-precipitation
- Demolition of the combined tank line 1
- Construction of the 4th treatment stage
With this realisation, synergies will be utilised, the wastewater treatment plant will be future-proof, the newly sealed surfaces will be reduced to a minimum, and the wastewater treatment will be significantly improved by the construction of the 4th treatment stage. The requirements of the funding agency and/or the approval authorities must be mandatorily implemented in the planning, and the funding requirements must be fully met.
