The University Hospital Düsseldorf (abbreviated UKD) is constructing a new clinic building on the campus to accommodate the Dermatology and Ophthalmology Clinic. Additionally, the new building will house a clinic for bone marrow transplants (inpatient and outpatient) and a geriatric department. The construction site is located within the campus grounds and is largely level, with minor elevation differences due to fillings of up to 3 meters. The 5-story new building, constructed in reinforced concrete with a basement and a technical floor, has no above-ground connection to adjacent buildings. Underground, the structure will be connected to the automatic goods transport system (AWT) and various media via channels.
