Greece – Tree pruning – ΕΡΓΑΣΙΕΣ ΚΛΑΔΕΜΑΤΟΣ ΚΑΙ ΚΟΠΗΣ ΥΨΗΛΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΕΠΙΚΙΝΔΥΝΩΝ ΔΕΝΔΡΩΝ ΚΟΙΝΟΧΡΗΣΤΩΝ ΧΩΡΩΝ

The present study mainly concerns the pruning of tall trees growing in sidewalks, squares, parks and public spaces, within the municipality, whose large size makes them hazardous for falling or pose risks from possible branch breakage and falling, due to great height or diseases in combination with severe weather phenomena. The works of restricting their crown and sometimes their felling and uprooting, are considered urgent and mandatory by our Service for the safety of both citizens and passing vehicles. Furthermore, in cases of necessary felling when macroscopic control is not sufficient and is deemed necessary, a non-invasive assessment of tree trunk decay, and a check, recording and dynamic evaluation of the static behavior of trees under wind conditions will be carried out.
