The IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027 (IGA 2027) is a regional decade-long project and laboratory for the sustainable cityscape of the future with supra-regional appeal, involving various municipalities, associations and initiatives. Five future gardens form the international showcase spaces of the IGA 2027. The IGA 2027 will therefore be the first decentralised International Horticultural Exhibition. The horticultural exhibition is organised by the IGA Metropole Ruhr 2027 gGmbH as the implementing company, the Regionalverband Ruhr as the regional institution for the Ruhr metropolitan area, and the municipalities as project sponsors, including the city of Duisburg. The city of Duisburg represents one of the three central main locations of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2027 (IGA) with the future garden "RheinPark and connection" and will answer the guiding question "How do we want to live tomorrow?" exemplarily, innovatively and very concretely: urban! The starting point of the future garden is the RheinPark in the Hochfeld district, which offers a varied leisure experience with direct proximity to the Rhine on approximately 33 ha of green and open spaces. The southern area of the future garden is characterised by the former industrial harbour (Kultushafen) and is to be converted into an exciting place by the water as part of the IGA 2027. The aim is to upgrade and supplement the existing green structures in the urban space, thereby increasing the proportion of green and open spaces in the district, especially on the basis of sustainability, in a future-proof manner. This is a funded measure. The resulting ancillary provisions must be observed. Due to the resolution of the City Council of Duisburg of 12.06.2023, the tasks of the planning, construction, design and content-related processing and the implementation of the IGA 2027 measures in the city area of Duisburg were transferred to the Wirtschaftsbetriebe Duisburg - Anstalt des öffentlichen Rechts (WBD-AöR) by the resolution of the City Council of Duisburg of 12.06.2023 (DS-Nr. 18-0877/15 v. 02.06.2023), which therefore - to the extent permitted by procurement law - carries out this procurement procedure in the name and on behalf of the City of Duisburg (hereinafter the contracting authority or AG). The subject of the present procurement procedure is the horticultural and landscaping work, and additionally the trades of steel construction and timber construction for the sub-project 55 Exhibition worthiness: - Restoration/creation of meadow and lawn areas - Restoration/regulation of paving areas - Restoration/creation of water-bound road surfaces - Creation of barrier-free paved path - Planting of trees - Creation of finished lawn areas - Creation of wooden decks - Creation, installation and removal of equipment elements - Regulation of stair steps - Repair/restoration of stair railings - Clean-up and beautification work
