The city of Monheim am Rhein is a medium-sized municipality in the district of Mettmann with approximately 43,000 inhabitants. It plans to establish a four-group day-care centre in the existing Hofstelle Kirberger Hof in Monheim Baumberg. The current courtyard is already listed in 18th-century maps and is entered in the monument list of the city of Monheim. The settlement history of the district of Baumberg has been significantly shaped by five farmsteads, with the Kirberger Hof being the oldest, most significant, and today the only remaining facility.
