Germany – IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support – Projekt 1026: Defensives Programmieren gegen mikroarchitekturelle Angriffe (MicroScope)

The objective of this project is to provide tools in the form of a guide and a tool for public administration, industry and security research to enhance the resilience of, in particular, cloud applications against microarchitectural attacks such as, for example, Spectre and Meltdown and newer variants. Defensive programming countermeasures at the application level should be the focus. This will make the security of the software used more independent of the countermeasures of the cloud provider. To reach as wide an audience as possible, the results will be written in English. The guide should describe concrete, practical and easily applicable measures, and the developed tool should automatically identify and, if necessary, mitigate vulnerabilities.
