Belgium – Polythene waste and refuse sacks and bags – Raamovereenkomst voor het leveren van vuilnisbakken en -zakken en rolcontainers

The hospital AZ Oostende wishes to align its waste policy with legislation. Additionally, we aim to optimise the various waste streams and flows, investing in sustainable waste streams. This procurement procedure is part of a sub-project focusing on the waste streams NRMA, PMD and Paper & Cardboard. The choice of various bins and bags, according to specifications (size, colour, material, etc.), is motivated by, among other things:

- Improvement of the organisation's internal functioning: Different types of bins and bags can be used to separate different types of waste and make it clear to the end user at a glance what type of waste is in the bins and bags.

- Compliance with current legislation: The VLAREMA regulations play a crucial role in the management of waste streams in Flanders. By setting specific requirements for waste bags, VLAREMA promotes not only the efficiency of waste collection and processing but also the environmental friendliness of these processes. This means that as a hospital, we must be aware of the types of bins and bags we purchase and use, and ensure that they meet the set standards. This in turn contributes to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable living environment.
