The transmission system operator 50Hertz Transmission GmbH invites cable protection pipe manufacturers to submit tenders for the manufacture and supply of cable protection pipes for the NordOstLink (NOL) underground cable project. The project involves the laying of an underground cable connection for the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission grid to improve grid stability and increase transmission capacity between northern Germany and central Germany. To implement the NOL project, framework agreements for the manufacture and supply of polyethylene protective pipes for extra-high-voltage cables and optical fibre, as well as for suitable pipe connections and fittings, will be awarded.
