The subject of the contract is the supply and transport of 10,500 tonnes of de-icing salt for snow clearing and ice management works on the National Road Network of the Region of Western Macedonia (RWM) (4,500 tonnes + 2,000 tonnes option) (CPV 34927100-2). The contractor will undertake, at its own expense, the transport of the quantities of salt to the sites indicated by the competent authority. The assumption by the contractor of the supply and transport of the salt, at its own expense, is considered necessary for the proper execution of the supply, from the perspective of limiting the total cost and additionally for facilitating the snow clearing works from a technical point of view, by the competent authorities, in relation to the better and faster coordination of the available means and necessary resources, especially during periods of heavy snowfall and low temperatures. The present contract is divided into the following sections:  SECTION 1 Region of Western Macedonia ‘RWM’ (6,500 tonnes): (4,500 tonnes + 2,000 tonnes option) estimated value 514,150.00 € incl. VAT. Offers for Section 1. The estimated value of the contract, for all Sections, amounts to 514,150.00 € including VAT and option rights. The duration of the contract is from the date of signature until 31/12/2026, with the right of extension until 31/12/2027 provided that by the end of this period the total quantities have not been exhausted. A detailed description of the physical and economic subject of the contract is given in APPENDICES I & II. The contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous offer, based on the lowest price/tonne (excluding VAT). It is noted that in the event of unforeseen changes in circumstances, due to problems in the supply chain due to the energy crisis, international supply chain disruptions and the ongoing effects of COVID-19, which will make the contractor's provision disproportionately excessive and onerous, both in terms of the contractual price and in other terms of the present (e.g. in terms of delivery times), the contracting authority may apply the provisions of Article 132 of Law 4412/12 in combination with the provisions of the Civil Code (Document 2040/13-04-2022 EAADESYS and No. 22 Directive).
