Description

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Contracting Authority) falls under the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark. The current contract for mandatory hunting liability insurance for hunters expires on 31 March 2027. The Contracting Authority therefore offers a new contract for mandatory hunting liability insurance, effective from 1 April 2027. The mandatory hunting liability insurance means that persons who have a hunting licence shall be covered by liability insurance with an insurance company that is legally permitted to conduct insurance business in this country. The insurance shall cover claims for compensation and reimbursement for damages caused by the discharge of a firearm during hunting. Persons who obtain a hunting licence simultaneously take out liability insurance, which covers the liability that the person concerned may incur under or in direct connection with hunting, for damages caused by the discharge of a firearm. The Agency levies an annual fee for the issuance and renewal of hunting licences. At the same time, the Agency may levy the annual premium for the liability insurance.
