Germany – Radiotherapy, mechanotherapy, electrotherapy and physical therapy devices – POT-02-GLG-039 Bestrahlungsplanungssystem
Description
The contracting authority intends to conclude a purchase contract for the supply, installation, implementation, and operation of a new irradiation planning system, including the necessary hardware and software components, as well as accompanying service and support services. The objective of the procurement is to ensure a future-proof, high-performance, and clinically safe irradiation planning system in the Department of Radiotherapy at Werner-Forßmann-Krankenhaus Eberswalde. Given the existing technical equipment, particularly the operation of two linear accelerators from Elekta GmbH and the use of the Elekta ONE software platform, the new system must be fully integrated into the existing infrastructure and compatible with the current modalities. The current equipment of the clinic enables a wide range of modern radiotherapy treatments, including CT-guided 3D irradiation planning, intensity-modulated radiotherapy including VMAT, image-guided radiotherapy, and brachytherapy. The new irradiation planning system is to support these treatment methods and be designed as a medically approved 3D planning software for percutaneous radiotherapy with linear accelerators for photon and electron energies. The subject of the procurement is a fully networked complete solution that includes all necessary licenses, interfaces, and powerful hardware to ensure stable and efficient clinical operation. With the procurement, the contracting authority aims to enable, in addition to the basic performance in irradiation planning, the use of modern AI-supported functions. These include, among others, advanced segmentation and contouring algorithms as well as deep learning-based applications to support and optimize irradiation planning. The solution should be designed in such a way that it can be expanded in the future with additional AI-based modules, thus ensuring sustainable further development of the planning processes. The introduction of the new irradiation planning system is intended to ensure an overall high-quality, efficient, and future-proof patient care and, at the same time, relieve the medical specialist staff from routine work steps.
